The Nixie Tube Clock
 

Here is the original Nixie Clock.  There were six built in year 2000.

The vertically mounted board is the logic section of Mike Harrison's nixie clock design.
The horizontal board contains the drive transistors and sockets for the NL-841 nixie tubes.

The cover is assembled from five cut panels of Starfire Crystal, bonded together with UV curing adhesive.

The clock is powered directly by 120vac. It is non-isolated, and so the crystal cover is glued on for safety.
 

Only the finest components were used in the construction. Most were gifts as Christmas gifts in 2000.
 

The clock is seven inches wide, three inches tall, and three inches deep.

It weighs two pounds. Mostly due to the crystal cover.
